Ammarnäs is a small village with a big heart and has almost anything you could want. Although it's a village, there are many activities and guides that reflect what the mountains, waterways and strong Sami presence have to offer: horse riding, boat trips and hikes to either enjoy the surroundings or learn about fauna, flora and culture (take a trip along Kungsleden or discover the local trails in Ammarnäs).
The village has long been to the fore in its work with sustainable fishing and together with nearby Kraddsele is known for its good grayling, brown trout and char. Just don't forget your flies!
The village itself is an example of thriving cultural heritage, with several places of cultural and historical interest – such as the delta with its barns, moraine hill and church town.
You can go trail running, attend a storytelling event, feast on culinary delights and much more. And then there's the ski slope, of course.
